Foreign Minister holds discussions with Bhutanese counterpart

Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid has held discussions with Bhutanese Foreign Minister Dr. Tandi Dorji.

The discussions were held during a phone call made between the two Ministers today.

The two Ministers discussed developing the close relations between the two countries even further. Specific areas of these discussions revolved around the two countries working together in the areas of health, tourism, and climate change as well. 

During the phone call, Minister Shahid also praised the Bhutanese government in its efforts against COVID-19. The country has so far confirmed just 27 cases of the virus with six recoveries.

Developing bilateral, regional, and international ties between the country were also discussed between the two foreign leaders. 

Ending the call, Minister Shahid invited his Bhutanese counterpart for a visit to the Maldives at a time of convenience.
