Two more COVID-19 patients in the Maldives have made full recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 20.

In a press conference tonight, NEOC spokesperson Mabrouq Azeez announced the new recoveries.

Maldives confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on March 7 from Kuredu Island Resort. A Maldivian had tested positive for the virus for the first time March 27.

The country has now recorded 573 positive cases since then. The majority of cases were identified in the capital Male’ City where a community outbreak was identified on April 15. With more than 500 cases, the country has also, unfortunately, lost two patients to the virus.
