The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced that an additional 16 cases of COVID-19 have been tested positive in the Maldives.
On its official Twitter account, HPA stated that the additional 16 cases were comprised of nine Maldivians, six Bangladeshi nationals and, one Sri Lankan national.

As of 9:15pm, confirmed an additional 16 cases of COVID-19 infection in Maldives.
Cases:
- 6 Bangladeshi
- 9 Maldivians
- 1 Srilankan
Total number of cases: 573
The total number of cases confirmed for today now stands at 22, with the national total at 573.
Out of the confirmed cases, the majority originated from the populous capital of Male' where a community outbreak of the virus was identified on April 15. A large number of foreigners in the Maldives have tested positive for the virus as well.
