The government of Maldives has announced that two more individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives.
The news was announced on the COVID-19 Statistics Dashboard of the official website of Health Ministry. No official word is yet available from the Health Protection Agency (HPA) regarding the confirmation of the two new cases.
According to the website of the Ministry, the two new cases are a 33- year old Maldivian man and a Bangladeshi man whose age was not specified. Their conditions are stable. The website also stated that the 33-year old Maldivian belonged to the MHF cluster of cases identified by the authorities, one of the larger clusters to be identified in the country..
The news means that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives has increased to 228. The country has now confirmed 14 cases of the virus yesterday. Out of the positive cases, more than 130 cases are foreign nationals living in the Maldives. 17 individuals have also made full recoveries from the virus.
