President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih visited and inspected two isolation facilities in the Maldives built regarding the Covid-19 virus situation in the country and house suspected cases of the virus.
The President visited the Farukolhufushi isolation facility and the Medical facility under development in Hulhumale’ as part of the inspection.
Out of the two facilities, the one in Farukolhufushi is designated for high-risk patients of the virus and has a bed capacity of 50. A two-bed ICU and ventilator treatment are also established in the facility to treat patients.

The Medical facility in Hulhumale’ has a capacity of 300-beds and is designated to treat virus patients.
President Solih also met with the national task force assembled to handle the situation with the Covid-19 in the Maldives and clarified the difficulties faced by the task force in their efforts.
The Maldives has so far confirmed 19 cases of the virus, out of which 13 have since made full recoveries. The government has been closed for almost a month as the country works to fully eradicate the virus.
