Maldivian athletes ranked in top 100 Badminton world rankings

Maldivian athletes Aminath Nabaha Abdul Razzaq and Fathimath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq have been ranked in the top 100 Doubles World Ranking in Badminton.

This is the first time a Maldivian pair has been ranked in the world top 100.

The athletes, who are twins, were congratulated by the Sports Minister Ahmed Mahloof.

The minister stated that the two athletes would have the opportunity to represent the Maldives at the Olympics to be held in Tokyo, Japan.

The Olympic games originally scheduled for this year, have now been postponed for 2021 due to the situation with Covid-19.

Nabaha and Nabeeha also won the silver medal in the doubles event of Badminton in the 13th South Asian Games held last year.
