Doctors urge against fake news in delicate situation

Government assembled emergency response team member Dr. Ali Latheef has requested to stop spreading fake news as it decreases the public faith in medical professionals.

The request was made at a time when a case of a claim by Channel 13 regarding the situation with the virus had hit the spotlight. The host of the “Madiseela” program of the channel had stated on air that they had received credible information that a local had tested positive for the Covid-19 virus and called on government authorities to immediately confirm the news which was later denied by authorities.

Dr. Latheef stated that this was a delicate time and that the hard work of doctors and medical professionals were conducted in good faith and should be accepted by the public. He also stated that the results of the virus tests would be shared with the public without any secrecy.
