Mathiveri still under restrictive measures after suspected virus cases

The local island of A.A Mathiveri still remains under restrictive measures and the authorities announced today that a further six people were moved to the isolation center in Farukolhufushi.

The island was initially placed under restrictive measures following two suspected cases of Covid-19 on the island. The two cases, both foreigners were moved to isolation to the center in Farukolhufushi, by the authorities. Tests have now been conducted on the two and authorities are now awaiting results. Contact tracing was also being conducted on the island which is a popular local tourism hotspot.

The six people were traced from the efforts.

Three resorts still remain under restrictive measures. They are aaavee Nature’s Paradise, Gili Lankanfushi and Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru.

The Maldives confirmed 13 cases of the virus. All tested positive are foreigners and are in good health.
