Of the 13 people, five were from Kuredu Island Resort, two from Sandies Bathala, two from Kuramathi Island Resort, two from Anantara Dhigu, and two from Island Safari-1.

HPA is currently monitoring four resorts and once residential island following suspected COVID-19 cases; Kihavah, Gili Lankanfushi, aaaVeee Nature's Paradise (Dhoores), Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru, and A. A. Mathiveri.

Samples have been taken from the people who have exhibited symptoms consistent with COVID-19, and the islands will continue to be monitored until HPA receives test results.

Meanwhile, Kuredu, the island resort which reported the first confirmed virus cases in Maldives, remains on “orange alert”, with areas of the resort cordoned off to hold people who must undergo a 14-day quarantine period.
