1 injured in Fuvahmulah accident passes away

One of the two people injured in a collision between two motorcycles in Fuvahmulah City on Saturday has succumbed to his injuries and passed away while under treatment at the intensive care unit of Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

The man, Hassan Ahmed Didi, 44, Kothange, Fuvahmulah, passed away on Sunday morning.

He had sustained serious injuries in the collision and was transported to IGMH in Male’ for further treatment.

The Fuvahmulah City Council has issued a statement conveying its condolences to Hassan Ahmed Didi’s family.

The council described him as a hardworking member of the road construction until which works under the council.

The accident which resulted in Hassan Ahmed Didi’s death has taken place at approximately 18:18 on Saturday, March 14.

The other motorcycle involved in the collision was driven by a boy under the age of 18 years.

The boy has been fined for unlicensed driving, and the motorcycle he had been driving has been towed.

The traffic collision is under further investigation by the police.
