Islamic Ministry has stated that current predictions showed that the first lunar eclipse of 2020 will be visible to the Maldives.
The eclipse will be visible from 22:07 January 10 to 02:12 January 11, 2020. It will be at its peak at around 00:12.
Salat ul-Khusuf, the Islamic prayer for lunar eclipses will be performed at the biggest mosque in every inhabited island of the country at 00:00 on January 11, 2020, according to Islamic Ministry.
Four lunar eclipses are expected in 2020. Eclipses are expected to occur on June 5, July 5 and November 30 as well.
