Govt. seeks contractor to build new Defense Ministry headquarters

Finance Ministry has posted a tender announcement seeking a party to construct the new Defense Ministry headquarters.

Finance Ministry says it plans to finance the construction of the new Defense Ministry headquarters by utilizing a portion of the grant assistance released by the Indian government.

It has invited bids from both local and Indian parties who are interested in the project.

Interested parties have been instructed to register with the Finance Ministry between November 20-December 17. They are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of MVR 1,500 or USD 100.

Bidders are also required to submit a bid security of MVR 355,000 or its equivalent in USD.

Bids will be opened at 11 am on December 18.

India has released MVR 80 million to finance the construction of a 11-story building to relocate the Defense Ministry. It will be built on the land where the Coastguard Building currently stands.
