President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih received a warm welcome from Seychelles on his state visit and has met with the President of Seychelles Danny Faure to hold discussions.
The presidential couple received a warm welcome at the statehouse of Seychelles by the President of Seychelles Danny Faure. During the discussions held, the two leaders spoke about the challenges faced by both countries as small Indian Ocean island nations. The talks also highlighted issues such as joint efforts on maritime security and peace, economic cooperation and efforts against piracy, drugs and human trafficking and terrorism.
This is the first state visit by a sitting Maldivian president to Seychelles. The two leaders are scheduled to sign MoU's of cooperation between the two countries during this visit.
President Solih also thanked his counterpart in supporting the Maldives in its bid to host the Indian Ocean island Games in 2023 and expressed his desire to see Seychelles take part in the games.
