President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih assures Th. Hirilandhoo council that land reclamation project of Hirilandhoo will proceed as planned.
President Solih stated this during the meeting held with Hirilandhoo council members at President’s Office last Thursday.
Council members briefed President Solih with the issues they face and discussed what the needs and demands of the islanders. They discussed issues such as the development if the harbor, challenges in the availability of proper health facilities and the land reclamation project.
President Solih assured the members that the land reclamation project will proceed as planned and that he will hold discussions with the concerned ministries to take immediate and swift action for the development of the island.
The budget passed for this year included MVR 10.5 million to the land reclamation project of Hirilandhoo, as well as a budget for the ongoing water purification project.
MP elect Mohamed Nashiz of Kinbidhoo constituency, which Hirilandhoo belongs to joined the discussions with the council members.
