Taxi crashes into road divider in a Hulhumale’ highway accident

A taxi crashed into the road divider on the Hulhumale’ highway in an accident this Monday morning.

No one was harmed in the accident, but the collision resulted in the destruction of a large section of the road divider.

Maldives Police Service says the accident was reported to the authority at 11:34 am.

A media official from MPS reported the taxi was headed from Male’ City to Hulhumale’ when it crashed into the road divider at the end of the four-lane section of the highway – the scene of a similar accident on January 16.

The official reports there was no passenger onboard the taxi when the accident took place.

Neither the taxi driver, nor any bystander sustained any injury in the accident.

MPS reports the accident is under investigation by the agency.

Records show 508 accident reports have been lodged with the agency so far this year; 123 accidents alone this month.
