More than 86,000 of its members have the right to vote in the upcoming MDP Primary for Parliamentary Elections 2019, says the party.

The list of voters for the MDP Primary was released this Tuesday.

Chair of Elections Committee of MDP, Ibrahim Manik reported to ‘Sun’ that the list released this Tuesday does not contain the names of voters registered at the Dhafthar, and said addition of voters registered at the Dhafthar will push the total number of voters to 86,091.

The list of 84,880 voters for the MDP Primary (excluding voters registered at Dhafthar) is now available from the party’s website.

Manik said a separate list of voters registered at Dhafthar, will be released by the party soon, and noted the list will correspond with how the Elections Commission distributed voters registered at Dhafthar to electoral districts in Male’ City.

280 candidates are running for the MDP Primary, scheduled for January 18.
