Reynis Ahmed Saleem, former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s appointee to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has been dismissed from his post.
Secretary-General of JSC, Abu Bakr Mohamed confirmed to ‘Sun’ this Monday that the commission received a letter from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih informing the commission of his decision to dismiss Reynis Saleem on November 25.
The letter was dated November 22.
Reynis Saleem was appointed to JSC on July 31, 2018 to replace Yameen’s previous appointee, Mohamed Faisal, who was appointed a High Court Judge.
Reynis Saleem was also part of Yameen’s legal team in the unsuccessful petition filed the Supreme Court to nullify the results of the presidential elections – for which he garnered criticism due to his position at JSC.
