City striker Aguero says 'no significant' injury

MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero says there's "no significant injury" to his right knee after being carried off during his team's Premier League opener against Southampton.

The Argentina international fell awkwardly following a challenge on Sunday by Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne and came off in the 14th minute of the match at Etihad Stadium.

Aguero says on Twitter that "the studies I had done revealed there's no significant injury but it was a very tough hit to my knee. Tomorrow, the physicians will evaluate the time it will take for me to recover."

After City's 3-2 win, City manager Roberto Mancini says he was "worried" about Aguero's injury without having seen the results of the medical scans.
