Minister of Defense and National Security, Adam Shareef Umar has made a public appeal for efforts to stop corruption in the country.
Adam Shareef wrote on his official Facebook page last Tuesday night that corruption was one of the major issues facing the country.
“This will only stop once heads of institutions, lawmakers and general members of the public responsibly stand up against corruption,” wrote Adam Shareef.
He also called for greater awareness on dangers of corruption.
Adam Shareef’s appeal comes at a time when several allegations of corruption against President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s administration have come to light.
