Court overturns Maumoons permit to preach

Criminal Court has withdrawn the permit given to the former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom for religious preaching. 

The overturn of the permit was declared in the verdict delivered today. 

Today's verdict also terminated the permits as a legal attorney for the Supreme Court Judge, Ali Hameed and the Chief Justice, Abdulla Saeed. 

All three were sentenced today, to 19 months in prison for obstruction of justice. All three are also charged with terrorism and the trial is ongoing.
