Changes have been made to the regulation on judges going on leave to apply for permission at the Supreme Court.

In a previous open letter from the Supreme Court, it was stated that judges can go on leave with the permission of the Supreme Court.

Supreme Court published an open letter yesterday saying that holidays for judges will be arranged by the Chief Judges of their respective courts. And similar to that, if there is more than one magistrate on an island, the Chief Magistrate would have that authority.

But the holidays for the Chief Judges would be approved by the Supreme Court.

Supreme Court has advised to consider court proceedings when arranging the holidays for the judges.
