Lawyer: Maumoon under investigation accused of hiding evidence

Lawyer Maumoon Hameed has said that his client, the former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom is being investigated accused of hidding evidence.

Former President, Maumoon was arrested with suspicion of conspiracy to overthrow the government.

In a tweet sent out today, Maumoon Hameed said that police has notified that President Maumoon is being investigated for hiding evidence. But they did not say as to which evidence the former president is accused of hiding.

Along with President Maumoon, his son, the MP for Dhiggaru constituency, Ahmed Faaris Maumoon and son-in-law Mohamed Nadheem, Chief Justice, Abdulla Saeed and Supreme Court Judge, Ali Hameed was arrested by the police for conspiracy to overthrow the government.
