First lady visits military families, ends UK trip

LONDON (AP) — U.S. first lady Michelle Obama has met with British-based American military families on the final stop of her visit to Britain.

Obama received a warm welcome from the American families when she arrived at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk. Casually dressed in a sports jacket and chinos, she greeted them with hugs and high-fives, before signing autographs and posing for pictures.

Earlier Sunday, she cheered on the U.S. basketball team as it beat France 98-71 at the Olympic Park in east London. The "First Cheerleader" hugged the U.S. players and their coach after the game.

During her trip the first lady attended the Olympic opening ceremony and a reception for heads of state at Buckingham Palace. She also had a private meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron's wife, Samantha.
