GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) — North Korea beat Colombia 2-0 Wednesday in an Olympic women's football match that was delayed for more than an hour after the North Koreans refused to come onto the field because of a flag dispute.
The South Korean flag was mistakenly displayed on a jumbo screen at Hampden Park instead of North Korea's, prompting the team to stay inside. When the match finally got under way, the North Koreans pressed from the start and had several chances before going ahead in the 39th minute.
A long ball into the area bounced off several Colombia defenders before ricocheting off the shin of Kim Song Hui into the net. She then added a second in the 86th from a rebound.
The Colombians had a few chances to equalize before that, with Maria Usme's free kick over the bar their best chance.
