Ooredoo Managing Director resigns from board

Managing Director of Ooredoo Maldives, Vikram Sinha has resigned from the comapany's board of directors.

The resignation of Vikram Sinha, also the former CEO of Ooredoo Maldives, was announced at the Annual General Meeting of the company on Sunday night.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Sinha said that the decision to resign to pave the way for the Maldivian youth to climb up the ladder at the company and said that what is more remarkable than the country's beauty is the talents and skills of the Maldivian people.

Vikram Sinha was appointed as the CEO of Ooredoo Maldives in 2014. Ooredoo Group transferred him to their Myanmar branch earlier this year where he serves as the COO.

At the Annual General Meeting of Ooredoo Maldives, the CEO of the State Electric Company (STELCO) and the Minister at the President's Office, Ahmed Zuhoor, was elected as the representative of public shareholders to Ooredoo's Board of Directors.

Ooredoo Maldives said that Vikram Sinha played a big part in the success the company enjoys today.

He served three years as the CEO of the company.
