Professional tennis stadium to be built in Hulhumal

Youth Minister Ahmed Zuhoor has said that they are trying to build a professional tennis stadium in Hulhumalé.

Talking to the press on his visit to observe the progress of the phase 2 of the Hulhumalé project, Minister Zuhoor said that the construction of the stadium would begin as soon as the land for the project is approved.

“Aside from building the tennis stadium, since Youth City is for the youth, opportunities for playing different sports would be opened. We are trying to open such services to the public as soon as possible.” Youth Minister Zuhoor said.

The Youth Minister said that since tennis is a rich and popular sport on the international level, he believes an international level stadium in the Maldives and hosting tournaments would attract foreign investors.

Aside from the tennis stadium, the biggest football stadium in the country is also set to be built in Hulhumalé.

Minister Zuhoor said that even now they are working to get the finances to conduct big projects and some projects have already received funding.
