PARIS (AP) — Rafael Nadal could face top-ranked Novak Djokovic in the French Open quarterfinals, the toughest draw the nine-time champion has faced since becoming the "King of Clay."
Nadal has fallen to No. 7 in the ATP rankings since coming back from injuries, making him the sixth-seeded player at Roland Garros. He has lost five times on clay this season.
At the French Open, the Spaniard is 66-1 with his only loss coming in the fourth round in 2009.
Nadal's half of the draw also includes third-seeded Andy Murray and Grigor Dimitrov.
In the other half, No. 2 Roger Federer's path looks somewhat easier with a potential quarterfinal match against Stan Wawrinka.
In the women's draw, 19-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams faces a potential third-round match against former No. 1 Victoria Azarenka, seeded 27th.
