UEFA charges Georgia for fans on field during Germany match

NYON, Switzerland (AP) — UEFA has charged the Georgian soccer federation after fans ran on the field and delayed a European Championship qualifying match against Germany.

Play was stopped briefly near the end of Germany's 2-0 win in Tbilisi on Sunday when several fans came on to hug players from both teams.

UEFA says its disciplinary panel will meet on May 21 to judge the case, which includes other offenses.

Also, the Polish federation faces sanctions for fans lighting several flares during their national anthem ahead of the team's 1-1 draw at Ireland on Sunday.

UEFA says Ireland is charged with "improper conduct" of players after five of them received yellow cards.
