Goidhoo wins interschool beach volleyball tournament

Goidhoo School has won the first place in the team event and under sixteen women’s category of the inter-school beach volleyball tournament organized by the Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM).

The fifth beach volley tournament organized by VAM was won by Goidhoo School after defeating Imadhuddhin School in the final. A total of 15 teams participated in the tournament.

In the tournament that began on Friday, the pair of Shania and Rudhaina of Goidhoo School won the under sixteen women’s category in the individual events. The pair won the medal after defeating the pair of Maisha ans Thohira of the same school.

The men’s under sixteen team event was won by Dharumavantha School. And while CHSE won the under nineteen men’s championship, Galolhu Madharusa won the under nineteen women’s division.

Under sixteen men’s individual event was won by Nijad and Shamin of Majeedhiya School. The under nineteen winners was the team of Arif and Arushan of CHSE and the team of Areesha and Namiraa of Galolhu Madharusa won the women’s event.

The tournament was held from 26 February to 1 March. While the team events were completed, the individual events took place from Friday onwards.
