Mexico goalkeeper Corona not seriously injured

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico goalkeeper Jesus Corona has been cleared of any major injury following a collision in a friendly against Israel and was able to travel with the squad to Texas on Thursday ahead of three more World Cup warmup games.

Corona sustained a bruise when his head collided with a leg of defender Francisco Rodriguez during the second half of Mexico's 3-0 win of Wednesday. Corona was taken to hospital for tests, but later returned to the team hotel.

Mexico's football federation said Thursday "a major injury is ruled out."

Mexico plays Cameroon in its World Cup opener in Group A on June 13, meets host Brazil four days later and completes the group stage against Croatia on June 23.
