Saudi Arabia, UK's BAE agree on Typhoon jet price

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Europe's largest defense contractor BAE Systems says the governments of the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia have agreed on new pricing for a massive sale of 72 Eurofighter Typhoon jets.

BAE said in a statement Wednesday that Saudi Arabia and Britain came to an "equitable" pricing agreement for the deal that was signed in 2007.

BAE said payment was expected to follow soon, but gave no further details. BAE builds the fighter jet with European aerospace group Airbus and Italian defense contractor Finmeccanica.

The announcement comes a day after Prince Charles was pictured wearing a traditional Saudi robe for a dance ceremony.

It was the tenth official visit to Saudi Arabia for the heir to the British throne who was expected to meet King Abdullah before departing to neighboring Qatar.
