Teen ski jumper Sarah Hendrickson wins again

ZAO, Japan (AP) — American teenager Sarah Hendrickson won for the eighth time in 12 events in the inaugural women's World Cup ski jumping season, edging Japan's Sara Takanashi on Sunday.

The 17-year-old Hendrickson wrapped up the overall World Cup title Saturday.

She finished with 249.1 points Sunday on jumps of 98.0 and 94.5 meters.

"Knowing that I already had secured the overall title, it made it easier to jump with less pressure," Hendrickson said. "I was able to be more relaxed and that helped me have strong jumps today."

The season will end next weekend in Norway.

The International Olympic Committee last year approved women's ski jumping for the 2014 Sochi Olympics, having twice rejected its entry for Vancouver 2010, saying it lacked elite competition.
