Bayern's Tymoshchuk to rejoin Zenit St. Petersburg

MUNICH (AP) — Ukraine midfielder Anatoliy Tymoshchuk says he is leaving Bayern Munich to return to Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg.

Tymoshchuk announced the move Sunday on his personal website that he's agreed a two-year deal from July 1 with his former club.

The 34-year-old Tymoshchuk previously scored 18 goals in 100 games for Zenit, helping the side win the Russian championship in 2007 and 2008 UEFA Cup.

He joined Bayern in 2009, appearing in 86 league games. He was used mostly as a substitute this season as the Bavarian side won the treble of Bundesliga, Champions League and German Cup titles.

Tymoshchuk has made 127 appearances for the Ukrainian national team.
