Barcelona's Puyol has right knee surgery

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Barcelona says defender Carles Puyol has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.

The Spanish club made the announcement late Friday.

Barcelona did not indicate how long its captain will be sidelined.

Barcelona has a 13-point lead in the Spanish league and is set to face Paris Saint-Germain in the quarterfinals of the Champions League in the first week in April.
