Maldives Nursing and Midwifery Council, on Wednesday, announced a revision to the policy on the issuance of nurse’s license effectively from February 1st.
According to an announcement published by the Council on the government gazette, nurses applying for registration have been submitting course completion documents but failing to provide their qualification certificates.
The Council added that while permanent registration and provisional licenses are currently issued based on course completion documents, this policy will be revised starting next month.
In this regard, the Council said nurses applying for registration solely with the course completion document will only be issued provisional registration and provisional practicing license from February onwards.
The Council further said nurses applying for license after passing the competency examination who wish to include additional qualifications in their license must submit the relevant qualification certifications.
