The Elections Commission (EC) has publicized the registry of eligible voters in the upcoming Local Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) election scheduled for April 4th and begun accepting complaints for the registry.

A total of 294,937 people are eligible to vote in April’s election: 144,527 women and 150,410 men.

The voter registry has been published on the EC’s website. Individual voters can verify their inclusion by sending an SMS to 1414 in the following format: VR [space] ID card number.

According to EC, they will be accepting complaints for the registry until 15:00pm on January 18th via its ‘My’ portal.

The Commission explained that complaints can be submitted to make changes to the registry, such as adding an eligible voter, removing a voter, or correcting a voter’s information to ensure the registry’s accuracy. Complainants must provide supporting documents to substantiate their claims. Political parties can also submit complaints through the ‘Simedha’ portal, which has been specifically created for them.
