The individual who suffered serious injuries during a road accident in Hulhumale’ on Thursday has been transported to Sri Lanka for further treatment.

The 43-year-old victim from Fuvahmulah suffered serious injuries to the head and was taken to Male’ soon after the accident on Thursday evening.

The hospital received the individual in serious condition, said Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), but refused to divulge details saying it is the wishes of the family not to disclose information regarding patient. The decision to take the patient abroad was made by the family, the hospital said.

Two people were injured in the accident. The other person, who was not severely injuried, received treatment from Hulhumale’ Hospital.
